The Struggle

The Hot Dog Cart and the 4 A.M. Grind

Big dreams often start small—and for Chris, it started with a hot dog cart.
After months of chasing down leads, Chris finally secured a crêpe machine from a small factory in the French countryside. Customs delays, bureaucratic red tape, and weeks of waiting tested his patience, but when the machine arrived, it was the beginning of something new.

Learning to make crêpes was harder than expected. The batter stuck, tore, burned. He couldn’t get it right—until he remembered the Parisian street vendors. With patience and practice, he learned how to spin the batter with grace, how to let it cook just right. Eventually, Chris mastered the art.

With his crêpe grills mounted on a hot dog cart, he set out to test his dream. Every morning, he rose at 4:00 a.m. to chop vegetables, marinate chicken, and mix batter. Standing on a street corner, he stared down the choice every entrepreneur faces: “You sink or swim right here, right now.” Those early mornings, filled with sweat, doubt, and determination, laid the foundation for what would become a nationwide franchise.
